Personal injury claim could stem from Missouri crash

On Behalf of | Aug 21, 2019 | Firm News

Accidents can happen under varying circumstances. It is always important for driver’s to be aware of their surroundings and to avoid distractions. Unfortunately, not all drivers can avoid accidents that cause serious injuries and that could lead to personal injury claims.

It was recently reported that an accident in Missouri resulted in the death of one individual and seriously injured two others. Reports stated that the driver of a car collided with an SUV that was stalled on the side of Interstate 70. There was apparently no one inside the SUV at the time of the crash. However, a person walking along the roadway was hit by the SUV after the initial collision.

The incident resulted in the driver of the car suffering fatal injuries. A passenger in the car and the pedestrian both suffered serious injuries and were taken to an area hospital. All individuals were reported as being in their early 50s. Additional information regarding the incident may become available at a later time. It was unclear whether authorities were looking for the owner of the stalled SUV.

This incident has likely left many people feeling out of sorts. If the driver of the car is considered at fault for the incident, the pedestrian who suffered injuries in this incident may have reason to file a personal injury claim. Though that driver died as a result of the incident, a legal claim could still be filed against his estate. Gaining information on pursuing compensation for damages allowable under Missouri law may help the man during the decision-making process.
