Wrongful death: Missouri man suffers fatal injuries in crash

Though the loss of a loved can happen in an instant, the grief and hardships stemming from that loss can last for years. Families may struggle in many ways as they not only try to learn to live without their loved one’s presence but also as they try to figure out how to provide for themselves without that person’s help. In many cases, these struggles could warrant a wrongful death claim if the fatality occurred due to someone else’s actions.

One family in Missouri may find it useful to obtain information on their legal options after a recent crash that claimed the life of one person. According to reports, a 43-year-old man and his 39-year-old wife were on a motorcycle when the driver of another vehicle did not stop at a stop sign. As a result, the vehicle collided with the motorcycle.

The man driving the motorcycle succumbed to his injuries at an area hospital, and his wife survived but was seriously injured. The driver of the other vehicle did not suffer any injuries. It was not mentioned whether impairment was a factor in the accident.

The report indicated that the victim is leaving behind a wife as well as four sons. It is likely that the family will experience considerable struggles as they work through the loss of their loved one. If they feel it could suit their situation, they may want to explore the possibility of seeking compensation for damages permissible under Missouri state law by filing a wrongful death claim.
