Being charged with a violent crime is a very serious matter, as a conviction can change the course of one’s life. Two men are currently facing such charges after police say they committed several crimes in recent days, including but not limited to kidnapping. As Missouri authorities continue to build their case against these men, both have a need for a skilled criminal defense in the matter.

According to police, the 31-year-old and 29-year-old men approached several women with whom they had a dispute over missing money. It appears at least two of the women visited the men in a motel room over the weekend. There is no report of trouble during that visit, but the following morning one of the men called one of the women and accused her of stealing cash from him.

At some point later in the day, the two men arrived at the woman’s home and confronted her about the missing money. The woman claims she was threatened at gunpoint and that the men tried to force her into a waiting vehicle, then forced her back into her home at gunpoint. The second woman was also in the home, and told police she was also threatened. When police arrived, they found a third woman in the van, who claims to have been held there against her will.

These events led to charges including burglary, kidnapping, armed criminal action, unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and unlawful use of a weapon. It’s unclear if both men share the same charges. As of the time of this report, they remain jailed with cash bonds of $75,000.

Should these men be convicted of the charges against them, serious punitive measures will follow. In order to retain their freedom they require a skilled criminal defense from an experienced Missouri attorney. When charges like these are announced, the story is painted in a very one-sided manner. In some cases, very different realities emerge when the matter goes to court.
